DIY: Nightstand pet bed

By on March 2, 2017

Make a sleeping spot for your pet by re-purposing a nightstand or side table.
The key is to open up a space at the bottom of the piece of furniture for your pet while retaining the top as a usable table surface.
Use a nightstand, small chest of drawers, end table, whatever you have in the attic or whatever you find at a garage sale or thrift store.
If the piece has drawers, remove one or two at the bottom and then use a screw driver or drill to take off any hardware, fasteners or drawer stops.
If the piece has doors, unscrew the hinges to take the doors off. Also remove any interior hardware.
Paint or stain the entire piece, if you’d like.
Then use your imagination to decorate the interior: staple on fabric, cover it with wallpaper, paint it a contrasting color.
Place a purchased pet bed or a re-purposed pillow, cushion or blanket along the bottom of the table.
