The 17th annual Canine Crawl, a local festival to celebrate pets and raise money for The Humane Society of Eastern Carolina, will be held from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 14, at the Greenville Town Common on First Street along the Tar River.
Festivities begin at 11 a.m., with merchandise sales at the vendor village and music by Jimmy Valley. Adoptable animals will be on site. There also will be food from area food trucks, a question-and-answer session with veterinarians, and information about local animal non-profits.
A 1-mile fun walk begins at noon. Registration fee is $35.
A dog costume contest and pet-owner look-a-like contest begins at 1 p.m.
The Humane Society of Eastern North Carolina Alumni Parade will be held at 2:30 p.m.
